Trinity Western University’s Master of Arts Program in Counselling Psychology invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track position in Counselling Psychology for Fall 2012.
The MA Program in Counselling Psychology is accredited with the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs, offering both thesis and non-thesis programs of study to a wide diversity of students. Graduates of the program successfully enter professional practice in psychology and in counselling, and many go on to doctoral study in psychology, counsellor education, and related fields. Faculty research at TWU is funded through the federal funding agencies as well as private foundation support.
Preference will be given to applicants with interests and experience in one or more of the following areas: mentoring women professionals and scholars, international student development, qualitative and quantitative research methods, couple and family counselling, higher education counselling, and/or testing and assessment. As an evangelical Christian University community, we invite applicants who actively integrate Christian faith, personal development, and excellence in scholarship and professional practice.
This appointment will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, depending on qualifications.
The ideal candidate will have established a program of scholarly research, taught graduate courses in the field, provided clinical supervision to graduate students in professional settings, and offered well-regarded clinical services. Applicants should normally be registered psychologists or eligible for registration in British Columbia. Candidates with experience supervising masters’ theses and/or doctoral dissertations are preferred.
